Call for Consultancy for a Women Round Table A Civil Society Organisation is soliciting for the services of a consultant to assist the organization in facilitating a workshop on Women Participation in the governance process. Background Women representation in governance and decision-making processes have been a subject of great debate, scholarly attention and development attention in the past decades. Latest evidence and trends have shown that women representation in local level decision making is significantly improving. However, at the sub-regional and national levels, representation and participation of women is still low. This therefore calls for an approach that consolidates representation and participation at local level whilst also advocating for greater representation at the national level. One of the observed barriers to women representation in the governance processes is patriarchy. This is evidenced by the greater number of men occupying decision making positions as compared to women. Purpose of the task The consultancy will assist the organization in capacitating women so that they also actively participate in the governance processes and also motivate them to occupy decision making positions. The facilitator would then be tasked to formulate a report on the training workshop that they would have conducted. Qualifications and Competences The ideal consultation should possess at least a degree in social sciences; have knowledge and experience in gender development issues, governance issues and have knowledge of various urban communities of Zimbabwe. Proficiency in English, Shona and Ndebele will be an added advantage. Whilst our organization is an equal opportunities institution, female candidates are encouraged to apply. Duration The consultancy period will cover a maximum of 1 day. Those interested in the above, kindly send us an Expressions of Interest (by close of business on 15 September 2021). Applicants must also attach their CVs (with references) to the Expression of Interests. All Expressions of Interests and CVs must be sent to: info@grra.org.zw and cc kanyaifadzai92@gmailcom
