About Us

Welcome To GRRA

Who we are

Gweru Residents and Ratepayers Association (GRRA) is a residents’ association operating in Gweru whose main objective is to advocate and lobby for residents on service delivery issues in Gweru and Vungu Districts as well as creating platforms for engagement between residents and service providers. GRRA was founded and established by hardworking and passionate residents, who brought together dedicated community leaders with a passion for quality service delivery. GRRA has a dedicated suburban residents’ committee and inducts them on the GRRA approach.

Our Model

Engagement for Progress Model

1. Exploration

We identify the root cause of the problem by collecting information through the conduction of open dialogues (ward community meetings), observations and interviews.

3. Persistence

Persistence means keeping at it over time. For GRRA, that meant remaining engaged and being prepared to be flexible in their approach as the environment changes. Persistence, rather than giving up is a key characteristic of the engagement for progress model.

2. Initiation

The community conducts action-oriented activities. Which is essential to increasing individual awareness and providing a platform for people to become active to achieve certain goals.

Being a member of GRRA has made me aware of my God given rights and power. I have been educated and informed on how I can effectively influence local governance processes in local authorities. All women must participate to shape their future.
